Professor Winton Professor of astronomy Barnett Winton who, in 1940, reveals the existence of K-Metal and of the planet Krypton to reporter Clark Kent, secretly Superman. "Long ago, while upon a scientific expedition into the heart of Mongolia," Professor Winton witnessed the arrival of a gigantic meteor from outer space.  Returning with a fragment of it to his laboratory, Professor Winton learns the nature of the destroyed planet Krypton and of its super-powered former inhabitants, now apparently all destroyed. Years later, when Clark Kent interviews Professor Winton on a routine story assignment, the reporter is launched upon a series of adventures that ultimately result in him learning the secret of his origin, the nature of his powers, and revealing his dual identity to fellow reporter Lois Lane.
