which is online and includes 100 pages of Shane's artwork.

Randy Sargent
[Shakah-Rune]
Colors
Sarge has loved comics for most of his life. He has been a fan of the early Superman comics for even longer, and by "early" Superman he means the Superman who could only leap and not yet fly. As a child he found fun by spending his free time coloring Jack Kirby artwork,
but he never considered the pastime to even be a hobby. It wasn't until a few years
ago that an inspirational fellow (on many levels) named Shane Foley got him to take it seriously. He's been enjoying it ever since.
Sarge's work has appeared in Krash, The Panther, Alter Ego, and The Jack Kirby Collector.

The Joe Shuster Studio
Original Layouts, Pencils, Inks, Balloons, and Letters
Co-creator of Superman and later of Superboy,
Joe Shuster was at first the only artist on the character. He quickly had to form "The Joe Shuster Studio" in order to
help him keep up with the ever-increasing workload that Superman's sky-rocketing popularity demanded.
The artists who worked on the surviving original 1940 pages of this story were (links open biographies in a new window): Paul Cassidy, Wayne Boring, Don Komisarow, John Sikela, Leo Nowak, and Joe Shuster. See the original credits for details about which artist worked on which page.
Joe Shuster's usual role at this time was to draw Superman and Lois' heads. It is unknown whether or not he did for this story. Shuster continued as Superman artist until 1947.

Whitney Ellsworth
Editor
Whitney Ellsworth was the editor at National (later DC) Comics who was in charge of Superman, Batman, and other characters. He was also a prolific comicbook writer. He served as Jerry and Joe's direct boss, and after the completion
of The K-Metal from Krypton, he wanted the story restructed and some additional changes made to it. His editorial suggestions were never made - possibly because they would have involved rewriting and redrawing the story. We have seen fit to present Jerry and Joe's completed version of the comicbook without attempting to incorporate Whitney's list of requested changes.
Ellsworth later served as co-producer and script developer for the Superman radio show and the Adventures of Superman television series. Many of the ideas introduced in The K-Metal from Krypton were later reused in those other media.
