I remember reading a few years ago that Shelly Moldoff holds the distinction of being the only living creator whose work appears in Action Comics #1, from 1938.

Apparently he was also Bob Kane's first ever assistant on Batman, just before Jerry Robinson.

Of course, most of the Batman stories between 1954 and 1967 signed by Bob Kane, were actually ghosted by Moldoff, and most of the remainder were by Dick Sprang.

What story did Shelly work on in Action #1?

He did the "Odds 'N Ends" fact page, on the inside back cover.

Maybe somebody who has The Limited Collectors' Edition of this comic, published in the 1970s, can tell you more - from memory, it wasn't included in the Millennium Edition.

Contrary to my previous post, I have since found out that the still-living very longtime DC colorist and production man, Jack Adler also worked on this issue - he colored the cover, at least.

I have a horrible reprint of Action 1,  made by Nestle Quick and probably worth a handful of gravel! Cheesy
