Sam,I liked your story. I liked it a lot. You brought a terrific sensibility to the characters and did an admirable new cover of an element of an old legend. When you can retell a little chunk of a story that's already percolating in the collective consciousness and a person's first reaction is, "Yeah, that must have been the way it was," then you've stirred up the big common soup pot the way it's been stirred by all those able old storytellers since Eve's first big lie about the serpent making her do it. Or maybe it was Adam's lie about Eve's making him do it, who knows?
We build our civilizations and our cities and our families on blessed little myths like the story of Superboy. Just remember that the opposite of myth is not truth. The opposite of myth is chaos.
So please always use your powers for good, never for evil. I'm proud of you.
