Welcome to "The K-Metal from Krypton," an on-going restoration begun in 2003 of an unpublished twenty-six page Superman comic-book story written by Superman co-creator Jerry Siegel and originally illustrated by the Joe Shuster Studio in 1940.

Some of this online presentation consists of restored versions of the original Shuster Studio artwork.  Since only a few pages of the original art are known to have survived, most of our pages are all-new artwork drawn by contemporary artists Jon Bogdanove, Angel Criado, Shane Foley, and Bob Rivard.

This site contains two articles describing the history of the comic - "The Most Important Superman Story Ever Written" explains its importance and some of the significant first-time events that take place within it, and "Sixty-Five Years in the Making," which describes the long history behind the story's creation, non-publication, re-discovery, and eventual restoration.

Of course, this site also contains the restored comic itself, to which new pages are being added as they are completed.  Posted updates are announced through the K-Metal RSS feed.
