Bruckheimer never directs.  He's a producer.  Of course this is largely symbolic as Con-air, The Rock, and Gone in 60 Seconds all look pretty much the same.  Blackhawk down and Piarates of the Carribean don't though, so I guess it's not an absolute.

Hmm...In case that last line seemed too mean spirited(and because this board hasn't been posted on in a while) I should point out that I do like Tom Cruise.  It's just that he's way too high profile from the part.  I could never accept him as Superman.  He would just seem like Tom Cruise in a halloween costume, and not like Supes.

Yeah, I agree with KryptoniteKills and Kal-El10, he's too high profile and too short.  It'd be like casting Arnold Schwarzenegger to play Jimmy Olsen.
