"The bottom line involves choices.  Neither gods nor humans have ever stood calmly in a minefield forever.  Good or evil, they are bound to choose.  And when they do, you will see the truth of all that motivates us.  As a thinking being, you have the obligation to choose.  If the fate of all mankind were in your hands, what would your decision be?  As a writer and an artist, I've drawn my answer."   - Jack Kirby

i say yes...

id also say yes on the phantom zone mini cuz i um.... like  it? (plz dont hurt me)

it was reffered to later, in the last dc comics presents, which has alot in common with "whatever happened to the man of tomorrow" (bizzaro world dies, mxy goes nuts) and a rather creepy scene where argo city rains down kryptonite corpses on metropolis... apart from that itwas kind of confusing. it contradicts what was destined to happen to superman, so i plant it in the "fluxtime" world of COIE 11 & 12 (u know, back when it just seemed like the worlds where smooshed together, not retooled)

also phantom zone was linked to an earlier comic, at one point they are in this werid place which superman said he has visited before

but yeah, i think the main problem people have is that the phantom zone was a look at what superman comics would be like in the nineties if the crisis hadnt happened.. and italso contains the hideously bad "bizzaro rock"

but thats me, i would include the story where superman turns out to be hypnotising everyone... and also Batmans older brother Thomas wayne... and why not superboys returning parents? (safe to say that whole Earth-B concept was lost on me wasnt it)

so i think lots of silly things

but the showcase issues should be in,

See other thread.  Actually, the longer the canonical reference list, the harder it is for readers to quickly know the stories.  If its written "Showcase No. 9" rather than "Sh No. 9" its actually more understandable.  Lois has a long entry, but if someone wants to talk about a particular story, just reference it - (Showcase No. 9, Jul/Aug 1957: "Insert Story Here").

As far as the PZ miniseries, if someone really wanted to add the story as one account with a reference, that would be OK with me, as long as its nature is contrasted with the 25 years of stories that preceeded it.
