Weird things happen when American Superheroes get translated and retrofitted for different cultures, before someone posted what happen to them in France.

In Spain and Latin America Superman became Superhombre!

Except in Puerto Rico who by the time of Action Comics No. 1 was already under US control for 40 years, so there Superman was always called Superman there, no translation of the name.

Superhombre wasn't just Superman under a different name, instead, he also got quite a few color changes to his custome for some strange reason.

Please note this was only during the Golden Age, by the Sliver Age Superman was just Superman everywhere on Earth Smiley

Who needs Superman-Blue and Superman-Red when you can have Superman white and yellow?Huh? WHA...??

Unfortunately, FortuneCity doesn't allow hyper-linking, SuperMonkey!

Can you provide a page that these pictures are on?  I'd like to see 'em!  Wink

I love some of these titles: "Drama at the Orphanage" sounds like one of those 19th century melodramas with a villain in a black top hat and a pencil moustache.

HI im spanish, those are publications od the 40īs in spain really funny. they changed all the names for legal problemas. Clark kent was named -"Carlos Sanz" and so on.

really we had a lot of problems here you know that superman comics were forbiden here in the period 1964-71. just for censorship problems with de dittatorship goverment we had

but today superman its named superman dont doubt that. south american guys usually translate most of the names but in spain: superman batman spiderman and the most famous superheroes are never translated.

hi everyone.
