..I mean, really. He had interesting powers (INDESTRUCTABLE force fields? But he DIDN'T use them against the Anti-Monitor's Anti Matter wall??), the potential for great personal drama (any single use of his power reduced his life by about a year), and his costume was... well, different.

What a waste...

For some reason the writers didn't take to him.  The shorting his life span by a year each time he used his powers was probably the big thing.  Maybe the writers didn't want to be responsible for taking years off the poor boys's life?

Who says he DIDN'T?

You might want to check out DarkMark's excellent fan-fiction site at http://dark_mark.tripod.com/darkmark1.htm.  Scroll down past his Supergirl stories until you reach the Legion fics, and you'll find out what REALLY happened --

"The Day Kid Psycho Died"

A nice tribute to a nearly forgotten character.

Sorry, that link didn't work when I tried it, Dto.

Beyonder, Kid Psycho was indeed called in during the Crisis and his force fields were in play.  IIRC, they were ineffective on the Anti-Monitor's so-called 'anti-matter' walls.  He did die in action after falling unconscious while other Legionnaires were trying to contact him via flight ring or telepathic plug.  This is perhaps the only time the Kid appeared after his original story, and justifiably so since the end of the Multiverse is certainly worth using up the lifeforce of Gnill Opral.

Sorry, Captain Kal -- a period was inadvertantly included at the end of that link.  For the listing of his DC fan-fiction, see:

For the direct link to the Kid Psycho story:
