Cheesy  This i s my first post, and I love this site. I became interested in comics when I was 10 years old because of the "Death of Superman," and I have therefore grown up with the John Byrne Superman. But just a few days ago I finally found a copy of "Whatever Happened to the Man of Tomorrow." I read it, and now I miss a world that I didn't even know existed.

Needless to say, I have some catching up to do. I saw the graphic novel of Starwinds Howl that is featured on this website, and I'm thinking about getting it. But there is very little in the way of a preview. Are there any pictures of the Starwinds Howl artwork posted somewhere?

(And how did Maggin publish a book about Krypto without getting his pants sued off?)

Thanks, and I look forward to being a member here.

It's a novel not a graphic novel, so there isn't any artwork for it. You can get it free here: https://www.supermanthroughtheages.com/a/users/maggin/starwinds-howl/howl.php

A slight explanation:  Starwinds Howl isn't a graphic novel, but is a text-only prose novella.  No pictures.  The content of the book is exactly the same as what you'll find online.  Also, Elliot S! Maggin never published it.  He sent us a copy of the story and we took it upon ourselves to make it widely available - both online and in fanzine form.

How did he not get sued?

No one has to pay to read it!

"The bottom line involves choices.  Neither gods nor humans have ever stood calmly in a minefield forever.  Good or evil, they are bound to choose.  And when they do, you will see the truth of all that motivates us.  As a thinking being, you have the obligation to choose.  If the fate of all mankind were in your hands, what would your decision be?  As a writer and an artist, I've drawn my answer."   - Jack Kirby
