GIL KANE  


A true master of the comics medium, Gil Kane is perhaps best known for his artwork on DC's Silver Age books Green Lantern and The Atom, and for his early 1970's work on Marvel's Spider-Man and Captain Marvel.  Kane's art is notable for it's expressive figures, imaginative layouts and masterful anatomy, and he is considered a major influence on the generations of artists who followed him.

In the early 1980's, Kane teamed with writer Marv Wolfman for a memorable run on Action Comics.  Later he worked at the Ruby-Spears animation studio, where he created character designs for their short-lived "Superman" cartoon series.  In a recent interview, he listed his tenure on "Action" (along with "Sword Of The Atom" and some early westerns) as one of his proudest achievements.  At the time of his death, Kane was working on a Superman graphic novel.
