Here's a pic from one of my favourite superman storylines which I think sums up superman. The panels before that was lois lane asking what is it as clark observed danger. What are supermans most iconic moments? Any more ideas? Grin

This particular moment comes from Action Comics 775 published March 2001, the story is "What's So Funny About Truth, Justice and the American Way?", where Superman went up against a group of metahumans known as the Elite, who without mercy killed criminals instead of bringing them to justice, which Sups disapproves strongly. The story is believed to be a response to the popularity of the Wildstorm comic, The Authority that at that point was written by Warren Ellis, which was becoming very popular with readers at the time for its extreme violence and radical approach to superheroics. Superman gets quite a beating at first but turns things around and pretty much owns them as he refuses to stoop to their level.

Some of my favorite Superman moments were whenever Superman would face off against Mongul.  Here was a guy who was able to pretty much shrug off whatever Superman could throw at him, and throw even MORE at Superman.

That NEVER stopped Superman from doing what he had to to foil Mongul and his schemes, though, and that's why they consist of my iconic Superman moments.  Smiley
