At this point in time, it's a given that there is such a thing as a DVD of Superman: The Movie

In fact, there was a long fought campaign stretching back to 1996 trying to convince WB that the film was worthy of a restoration treatment and re-release. May 2011 marks the 10th anniversary of the DVD and of the special edition release (both DVD and theatrical). Now available at superman.nu is an archive copy of Hiphat's re-release timeline:
