There doesn't seem to be a point, if you see the central point being a crime story. Superman has so much power that he should be able to stop any crime.

Frederick Wertham looked at super-hero comics and read them all as crime comics. That's all he saw in them. That and sexual acts where any two lines intersected.

I don't look at a classic World's Finest Comic and see a crime story. I see a story about two friends who hang out together, because they really like each other and respect each other. Along with a young boy who admires them both and wants to aspire to the values of honesty and charity that they represent.

I see three people having fun and living their lives the way they want.

This part's wrong, though.  I'm pretty sure Batman is stronger than most bats.  Maybe not those really big vampire bats in "Temple of Doom," but most other ones.
