All 3 have bits I like, but I voted for no. 1 because it made me nostalgic for the Superman through the Ages site of a few years ago--it has that look.
I like the serif look of the red lettering in no. 1. It's a commonplace that sans serif should be used in most website lettering (and serif should be used in printed text--there are reasons for this having to do with our eyes and how we read that I won't go into). But since websites are littered with sans serif lettering everywhere, a little serif lettering (as in a logo) makes for a nice contrast.
I think the red S on a yellow field should be displayed prominently in a logo that is going to represent the whole site--so that let's out no. 3. I like the hand-lettering feel of AGES in no. 2, but the rest of it looks pretty messy. I don't like the mechanical look of the lettering on no. 3--maybe if the A was a little more like the A in ACTION COMICS.
But really, I think no. 1 is the best over the other two.

Now I can't decide, they're all really good. I like that cape you added.

And when they do, you will see the truth of all that motivates us. As a thinking being, you have the obligation to choose. If the fate of all mankind were in your hands, what would your decision be? As a writer and an artist, I've drawn my answer." - Jack Kirby

I guess no one liked #2 very much, which surprises me a bit because I was trying to capture the look of old cheaply-printed comics with the dot matrix and the slightly offset lines and colors. I agree that the A in 3 is a bit too large, but I do kind of like the 3d shield.
