I just checked the original and its consistently shown and stated as orange, so any confusion with changing it to blue begins with the reprints.

Indeed it was,I remember reading this story as a kid. The Orange rays of Staryl's sun reduced Kal's powers rather than removing them,which sorta made sense. A blue sun should have boosted Kal's powers instead of removing them  Cool
