I have a record album called THEME FROM STAR WARS on which a song called "Superman Theme" was recorded.  Here are the lyrics, as best I can remember them:

Faster than a bullet,
Stronger than a diesel,
Leaps tall buildin`s in a bound.
Is it a bird? No!
Is it a plane? No!
Who is it?

It's SUPERMAN!

In the thick of danger,
Helping friend or stranger,
Wherever people can be found.
Is it a bird? No!
Is it a plane? No!
What is it?

SUPERMAN!
The (unintelligible) of SUPERMAN!

I had originally thought it was from the Broadway musical, but no, it was a Golden Record, which also had the Batman theme

"from another planet
muscles made of granite
x ray eyes and super brain....is it a bird? NO !

The song was also used in a Superman audio-adventures CD

My record didn't have the Batman theme, although it was indeed a Golden Record.  However, it DID have the themes from THE SIX-MILLION-DOLLAR MAN and the original THE BIONIC WOMAN.

My THEME FROM STAR WARS album had these songs on it:

SIDE ONE:

1. Theme From STAR WARS

2. Rocket Man (only other song with lyrics beside the Superman "theme")

3. (STAR FLIGHT?) (I can't remember this title offhand)

4. Theme from THE SIX MILLION DOLLAR MAN

SIDE TWO:

1. Theme from STAR TREK

2. Theme from 2001: A SPACE ODYSSY

3. SPACE RACE (I used this title for one of my stories, that's how I remembered it)

4. Theme from the original THE BIONIC WOMAN

5. Theme from SUPERMAN (note: may actually have been composed by the people who actually sang the "theme" on the record itself)

I have it in storage somewhere, I'll dig it out soon and scan it.  It was a 45 with only the two songs on it, (Superman song and the Batman theme)and is from around 1966 or 67

I was going to edit this song to a video for my site, and may still do it, but what the heck at the rate I'm getting things done lately I may as well share the song now, since you guys are interested:
