Probably Lightning Lad, at least in the early stories. I didn't follow the LSH much in later years.

My favorite Legionaire was always Brainiac 5. He just seemed so well done, especially in the Shooter/Swan era. He was highly intelligent of course but he was also cool about it, not really flaunting his superiority to the others like he could have. His personality was subtlely presented. He was suave, low key and at times humorous. Later on, under Levitz's  tutelage, he was a touch more arrogant and even condescending towards the others. These traits have of course reached their zenith in the current Waid rendition.
The other fun thing about Brainy was his sort of on again off again relationship with Supergirl. Talk about being in over your head! It was the ultimate nerdy guy/ class knockout awkward couple, straight out of high school. How intimidating could it be, a girl who can move mountains? This made for a lot of human interest, in my opinion.
