Jonathan Morris, a cartoonist and comic book fan who writes a consistently entertaining blog, has an engaging theory about Superboy, and if you want to look at it, it's right here:

There was an underground comic (don't ermember the name for the life of me) that had a dead on parody of Superboy -- although being an underground of the early 60s he truly was "Wish Fulfillment Boy".  I think the parody itself was "Supergoy" in the familiar old school lettering by Ira Schnapp.

Any of you dirty ducks out there know the name of the mag that this appeared in?

Yeah, wish i had a copy of that one.....I'll have to settle for the Zap and Snatch instead.

And Bobby London's Dirty Duck was top-notch...his Popeye was pretty good too !

I thought this thread would be about that story where a bedridden Lana tries to get Superboy to make Clark braver and Superboy flies around Smallville helping sick kids with their wishes.

But now I'm glad it wasn't because I got to see that great Justin Green panel.  Green's Binky Brown stories are awesome!

Superboy's mantle as Wish Fulfillment Boy transferred over to Jimmy Olsen (or perhaps more precisely, Jimmy Olsen's signal watch).
