Recently, I ripped this series from Boomerang. The animation lags quite a bit from previous H&B DC projects. However, Super Powers Show introduces many elements of "then" DC comics. As mentioned, it was a direct tie-in to a toyline (of the same name):

Although, only a handful are actually on this cartoon.

Be prepared for the toon debut of Firestorm, as well as special guest villain appearances, most notably Darkseid.

**Product details states 16 episodes. Now, there were only 8 twenty-two minute episodes broken into 2 shorts per episode. Here's hoping TW releases Galactic Guardians along with Super Powers Show.  Otherwise, technically, this DVD sets is only 8 episodes. **

Did anyone watch Super Powers Show in 1984?

***Episodes are still active on Boomerang at 12:00 am EST. Tonight features: No Honor Among Super Thieves/Mr. Mxyzptlk and the Magic Lamp.***

YES!!!

I had many of the toys as well as a kid.

I can't wait for this DVD now that you told me about it, of course I haven't seen it since the 1980's so I don't know how well they hold up nor do I remember any storylines (though I might start to once I see them again).

My login name comes from:

which happened to be on TV at the instant I was signing onto a new BBS (the glory daze of dialup) and wanted a unique login.

These cartoons, the Super Powers & Secret Wars toys, & Jack Kirby's Super Powers comics are some of my fondest memories of the mid-80's. Please! They have to release Galactic Guardians & the lost Super Friends also.

I was a fan of the Superfriends but maybe too old for Super Powers.  Not my fave Kirby comic either.  At the time I was a Teen Titans fan so I should have enjoyed seeing Cyborg but I thought only Perez should draw him or something.  And I've always hated Firestorm.  Still, the voices on all the Superfriends/Super Powers are so great and so evocative of my childhood, I'm still nostalgic.  Luckily I have some of these on vhs and saw them a few years ago on YTV in Canada, so I haven't been starving for this material.  Challenge of the Superfriends/Legion of Doom is still the best series.

I love my old Superpowers toys, as well.

This may be the worst episode, in terms of physics and story.
