Let's hope he still funny and can muster enough truly great comedians to make it work.  Of course, all those wonderful scenes of mayhem will be CGI-ed now.

There aren't any comedians working today who can touch any of the original cast.  What have we got, Jim Carrey acting spastic like a poor man's Jerry Lewis?  That pathetic old Tim Allen?  Jack Black? Adam Sandler?

I might give you Will Ferrel or Steve Carrell or even Greg Kinear, but good luck mustering a giant cast of funny people.  There just aren't enough.

The tag line for this film should be borrowed from the old "Brand Ecch" comic book:  "Because Nobody Demanded It!"
