SUPERMAN THROUGH THE AGES is on sale!
Not the website, but the book:
A while back I wrote a short book - a memoir about this website.
Superman through the Ages has been on sale for a bit, but I thought I'd formally announce it here and post a link to where you can
buy it.
Here's an excerpt from the book, describing what it is:
Superman Through the Ages! was founded in 1995. What this means is that that back in 1995, I put a couple of short text-only scholarly Superman articles on the web and named the collection “Superman Through the Ages!”
Since then, Superman Through the Ages! has grown into one of the foremost Superman websites in the world, with a large and active international community. It has a fan gallery displaying dozens of pages of Superman artwork sent in by the fans; stories and essays and musings sent in by fans; an extensive gift shop offering Superman related items of all sorts – from books and comics to videos, CDs, costumes, hats, and T-Shirts; an extensive encyclopaedia of Superman and the many characters and items associated with him; in-depth articles about the history of Superman in his many incarnations in various media; a vibrant and active forum; and much more.
It has spun-off multiple websites, including Supermanica: The Encyclopedia of Supermanic Biography.
In fact, Superman Through the Ages! has presented canonical and/or historically significant Superman stories that have never been available anywhere else; neither on the web nor off it.
The site has powers and abilities far beyond those of normal websites.
This book tells the story behind the story – how the site was started, why it was started, the behind-the-scenes legal battles, the loves, the losses, the joys, and the heartaches.
The book includes a memoir and also reprints of some of the articles I've written for the site. It is 37 pages and the same size as a comic book.
Superman Through the Ages is only $5.95 plus S&H and may be purchased online
here.
