Coolissimo! Forgive my ignorance in these matters, but would it be possible to save these and resize them so that one could use them as an avatar or profile picture or whatever it's called? What would one have to do?

Sure. To save them right click and select 'save as' and to resize them you need a photo or animation program. Not sure if you have one of those though.. But it's entirely possible to do most anything with them if you want.
