According to the indexer's notes at comics.org, this story contains the first kiss between Lois and Superman.

The first time I read this story was in March when I bought Jules Feiffer's The Great Comic Book Heroes on India Ink's recommendation. (Thanks again, India!) A great book.

The story may well contain the first kiss between Lois and Superman. It's also probably notable for the first time Lois says "I love you" to Superman.

When I first read the story in Feiffer's book, a couple of the panels seemed familiar. I soon realised I'd been looking at them for many years on the cover of my Superman from the 30s to the 70s hardcover. It's possible the panels on the cover of "30s to the 70s" were taken from the Feiffer book because there are also a couple of frames from the two pages presenting Superman's origin that precede the bursting dam story.

I say this not knowing if the original Superman issue contained the two origin pages together with the main story.
