I'm loving the fact that they used the original John Williams score in these recent trailers.

Looking on imdb, it credits John Ottman as having composed original music for the movie. Other superhero flix he's scored are: Fantastic 4 & the second X-Men movie.

I hope the John Williams score will be prominent (at least) in the opening credits.

I love John Williams' original score for Superman, which manages to be portentous and sad at the same time -- and, as in the bit where Otis walks into the subway, witty too. From the trailers I've seen, they seem to have managed to keep the same sound. I especially like the juxtaposition of Marlon Brando's rather flat delivery ("Though you have been raised among humans... You are not one of them") with that slow, mysterious tune. I haven't actually seen Fantastic Four or any of the X-Men movies, but it seems to me that this John Ottman fellow knows what he's doing.

John Williams struck the balance just right. Theme music for superhero films is complicated, it seems: I quite like the music for Spider-Man, but I don't think it fits the character at all; he's not an orchestra kind of guy, if you see what I mean. The travesty that was Daredevil (a character I love, and who was hopelessly mistreated in the film) didn't even warrant a theme; it just seemed to be an assemblage of hip-hop.

Rhino Records, the company responsible for releasing the soundtrack, has audio samples of each track for listening. Just a warning, the titles of the tracks *may* contain spoilers, not to myself, but y'never know!

I really liked the samples from the tracks, "Memories" & "Reprise/FlyAway"

Sounds like Ottman did an absolutely fantastic job on the music.

I'm very much looking forward to this soundtrack.  I'm almost as anxious for it as I am about the movie.   Cheesy
