I'm working on changing this into an actual clickable homepage for my own use --an alternate way into supermanica.  Any thoughts?

I like it!

You could actually separate that annual cover into separate image files, or create an image map, so that when people click on "Lori the Mermaid" it directs them to the Lori article, "Krypto" for Krypto, and so forth.
