This Superman descendant has been justifiably compared with the Pre Crisis Superman and at least one website claims he was based on the Pre Crisis Kal-El.

It's ironic that a character created to be at least as powerful as the old E-1 Superman, if not arguably much more powerful, would be scripted spending most of his time being severely depowered and weakening all the time.

It is telling about the writing talents at DC of that and our current era that they were incapable of writing about such a powerful super-hero, so they fell back on the crutch of depowering him for that storyline.

Yeah that stinks. I thought he was kinda cool, especially his other new powers. He looked a bit too much like Captain Planet with a cape though. And his Hilter hair was fugly. I wish they would have done more with him actually.
