Yeah... but howcum his super-intellect couldn't anticipate the paradox he was creating beforehand?? I mean, jeepers.
The following is just my opinion, but, because, as part of the charm of that era and too oft abandoned...Supes being attributed with super intellect took a back seat in story lines to him trying (this time out of loyalty to Lori) and having the results being learned by the reader (kids) and Superman AT THE SAME TIME...a joint resolution of the mystery...a way of bonding reader and character, especially readers of a young age.
I also think that a kid questioning some lines of outcomes in a good story led to them learning more about the real world for themselves...I'll take that over the "super continuity" of the post-Weisinger grand DC universe anyday... :lol:
