METROPOLIS - There was a time when Margot Kidder tried to shrug off her famous character in The Superman movies, but when it comes to the Superman Celebration in Metropolis, she knows exactly who she is - Lois Lane.
"My actor narcissism was in bloom for quite some time," admitted the actress, who now lives in Livingston, Mont. "I got to be in a series classic. What a great gift to get given in life."
Kidder, along with the original Lois Lane, Noel Neill, authors and Superman comic-book artists were on hand to greet guests at the Amerihost Inn in Metropolis and discuss the legacy Superman has carried on in the last 70 years and the impact they have had in pop culture.
"It is like the Greek tragedy and comedy and the struggle between good and evil," Kidder said. "It is the human story."
