But NOOOOO... I want to see Linda and Kara getting a friendship together, with Linda dealing with issues she has, and Kara gaining a mentor that did earn the right to the name Supergirl.

Whether or not Linda "earned" the name Supergirl is a matter of opinion...I personally don't think she did....What she did Earn should have been Angel-Girl

(It's no secret that the whole angel thing is what drove me at a fast paced run away from PAD's Supergirl)

Still, if the only way to see Linda again ever was in at least a good story that led up to her death... that I'd deal with it.. just a chance to read about the character one more time.

Now that I would have to disagree with. Her death would mean nothing and there are too many in that infamous fridge already.

Personally, I would like to see her back (never again associated with the Angel stuff, of course) in a supporting role in Supergirl or in another series (her own or some group) or not seen again rather than killed off for no other reason than to get rid of her.

As far as Kara taking on the Linda Danvers identity, you know, I would rather she didn't. For two reasons:

1. it would only serve to antagonize those PAD fans that are willing to give this Kara a shot.

2. by taking on a different Identity, it would separate her from the SA Supergirl. It would allow the writers more flexability in creating her personality if they did not have to try to make her match the Pre-Crisis kara.

Dylan

I'd agree with this but...with the angel stuff again... it kinda made her different somehow...she lost her powers to the Carnivore...regained a fraction by Twilight...then by the end of the series she gets all of her powers back
see this site for extensive info on what i'm talking about:

Another thought. Not a good one.

I think it likely that Linda will be or already has been retconned out. Very quietly.

Think about it. The Powers That Be are obviously squashing any direct mention of her in the stories. They are insinuating that Kara has not learned that there was a Supergirl before her. how could that be? Surely some one would have made a direct mention of it. (Direct...I THINK Powergirl alluded to it but very vaguely).

And as a writer...wow. I would jump at the chance to write the story of Kara learning of Linda...That would be the beginning of an adventure that would set her on Linda's trail. Always one step behind the tortured woman that did not want to be found.

until finally, They meet...and with Kara's help, Linda starts on the road to healing.

Unless they planned on Retconning her out, this seems to me to be something that would HAVE to happen.

it would be really cool if they made a story out of your ideas Dylan!, but,i did disagree with the fact of her not having her angelic abilities.as i say again..it made her different from the other past/recent Supergirls...honestly i really liked what Peter did with the story...he changed it  to fit his imagination and religous aspects into one...plus it gave Sg a chance to regain a whole new cast of really great characters like Silver Banshee,Cutter Sharpe,Mattie Harcourt...and such...um.. what's retconning? i've never heard of this word...what do you mean by the authours were planning to "Retconn" her out?

Retcon=Retroactive continuity.  Basically, they rewrite the past.

Now back to Linda.  I think DC might have some use for her in Infinite Crisis.

There is a bunch of theories regarding the Superman from JLA 119.  Here is the theory I posted:

There is a Superman that might have a very big grudge against this universe.

The Spectre kidnapped his wife and his daughter, Ariella, is missing and he's finally tracked both of them down to his wife's home universe.

There are things that point out that that Superman might be on his way. That Superman is not going to give up until he finds his wife and daughter, he's lost both sets of his parents and he's probably a bit touchy about losing any more family members.

After his wife, Linda Danvers, was brought back, that timeline was supposed to have gone down in non-existance. However, Ariella showed up much later on the current Earth. Supergirl is supposed to play a major role in the upcoming Crisis. Villians Unlimited are going after the people who know about the Crisis. However, no one knows Linda does know what really happened, save the Spectre.

Linda is hiding and trying to come to terms with the sacrfice she was forced to make.

Despite PAD's claims, that was not Earth-1. There were three things wrong right off the bat.

1) Pink Kryptonite
2) Superboy attending the wedding
3) Coloring error aside, the key to the Fortress of Solitude was of a different shape and size compared to its final incarnation before the reboot.

It seemed to be an alternate version of the Superfriends universe. Maybe Power Girl is actually from that Earth of Many Happy Returns.

1) Given the insane amounts of Kryptonite floating around in pre-Crisis times, I could believe that any color of Kryptonite exists.  Mauve, taupe, sea foam, etc. Kryptonite may all have been around, just to keep interior decorators happy.

2) The Superboy attending the wedding may have been Superboy of Earth-Prime.

3) The key is shaped right for at least one rendition.  Check out:

and note the differences in the key.

Oh, I still think PAD's on crack for asserting that Ariella = R'E'L/Supergirl: One Million.  R'E'L's costume looks as much like Cir-El's as like Ariella's.

I wasn't talking about Supergirl 1 Million.  In Teen Titans, Young Justice or some other present day title, Ariella showed up.

At the very end of Young Justice's "Sins of Youth" arc, Klarion the Witch-Boy comments to his cat Teekl that this entire episode hasn't allayed his sense of loneliness.  At that moment, a spacecraft crashes in front of them and R'E'L pops out, just like Action Comics #252.  She quickly explains that she's from the future, and asks if Klarion would like to be her friend.  Much to Teekl's disgust, Klarion appears smitten by the winsome Supergirl, and we're led to believe they're still playing somewhere...

BUT -- the recent Seven Soldiers series has rebooted Klarion the Witch-Boy, so "Sins of Youth" is now retconned.  It NEVER happened, which is a sad blow to Peter David's Young Justice series.  So it's possible that R'E'L never made it to present-day Earth, or she's pestering some other poor soul.  Too bad -- Klarion and R'E'L were truly a match made in...

so...let me get this straight..R'E'L is the daughter of Linda and Supes-who's boyfriend is Klarion the Witch Boy-whos universe/Earth-1  in the comics..now never existed?....wow...these people really are sarting to confuse me with dissapearing characters/universes plus the Infinite Crisis storyarc was a bit confuseing.....um..i have another question...i think i saw the most recent Supergirl in the...just a moment i'll check....aw crap.....it's the one where Mxy teleports to Lois and Clarks house..Lois is argueeing with Clark about having a child....clark hears a baby crying ...finds Mxy..mxy says it's not what you think..gives the kid a present...when she grows up...about 17 or 18 i think..that's the age it looks in there/the drawing...she wears a similar costume to Superman's...i think that version of the costume was really good...Superman flies with "Supergirl" shows her a few moves in fighting...and that's all i got up to.....so  the question is...is there going to be Another Supergirl in the near future...plus will Linda EVER return...in the comics....there's a quote from Superman #198 "...But you ain't Linda Danvers..So you ain't Supergirl"...what was THAT about?
