That is one of the things that turned a lot of long-time readers off on DC.  Or even comics altogether.  The condescending attitude that seemed to be directed at them.  Remember how (for a while there) people at DC would give their opinion about how pretty much everything pre-crisis DC was junk?  Things like that did a lot to sabotage what DC was trying to do.  What is the point of trying to expand your customer base, if you don't try to keep the customers you already have?   :roll:
