I just finished watching Superman IV: The Quest for Peace, the final Christopher Reeve Superman movie ever made.

The last line of the movie is delivered by Christopher Reeve.  Superman has just dropped Lex Luthor off at prison.  Lex asks him, "Is the world going to be vaporized?"

Superman responds, "No Luthor, it's as it always was - on the brink, with good fighting evil.  See you in twenty."

Although Superman IV was released in 1987, all of the photgraphy was begun and finished in 1986 - twenty years before Superman Returns hit the screens and Luthor finally got out of prison.

Looks like Superman's prediction was spot-on.

"The bottom line involves choices.  Neither gods nor humans have ever stood calmly in a minefield forever.  Good or evil, they are bound to choose.  And when they do, you will see the truth of all that motivates us.  As a thinking being, you have the obligation to choose.  If the fate of all mankind were in your hands, what would your decision be?  As a writer and an artist, I've drawn my answer."   - Jack Kirby

Except for the very end, of course.  That was done a few years earlier, before they... uhhh..  "forgot" how to do special effects.  Smiley  I wonder if they're going to reuse the Superman Returns ending in the sequel(s).
