Alas, it didn't. It just made the doubters more vehement. They went so far as to make bogus reviews of the rough cut in order to sink the movie, and some morons actually bought into them. UGO.com got nailed for the fake bad review they tried peddling, though.

Speaking for myself, I liked the trailer. I think I liked the machine gun stuff the best. It looks like Superman's gonna have a pretty big body count to clean up...and I admit, I want to see bullets shattering off his eyes. And we've been promised that.
