The Krypton Legacy

PART NINE

The Betrayal

The Council of One Hundred was still in session as they listened to a security officer standing before them.  They had received news that one of their council members, a man named Jak-Am, had been killed in a freak accident.  The devastation had taken its first victim.  They were dressed in mourning robes that were of a black colour.  This military officer was the very epitome of justice on the Planet Krypton.

"THE DATA WE HAVE ANALYSED FROM THE DATAPUTER INDICATES A LARGE TREMOR SHALL OCCUR WITHIN A FEW HOURS SIR!"

Maza, a person well versed in the sciences of Krypton, suggested to Ro-Zan, "Jor-El is growing too persistent about this theory of his.  This could create untold panic upon the citizens of our fair planet."

Ro-Zan then said, "Then we shall have to stop Jor-El from being persistent.  Captain, I want you to find Jor-El and bring him before us.  Only then can we stop this madness once and for all."

"Yes, sir."

The security officer turned and left.  Maza walked over to Ro-Zan with his aide by the name of Lon-Gorg.

"Are you sure you are making the right decision about him?  You could create a great scandal."

Ro-Zan said, "Do you deny the death of our friend?  Because it could be very severe if you were."
