The spaceship landed in a field in Kansas. A local couple, Jonathan and Martha Kent, found the ship with its precious cargo and decided to adopt the baby as their own. Conveniently, if that's the word, a blizzard struck which snowed in the Kents and everyone in the area for some time. The weather cleared, the Kents were in a family way, and nobody was any the wiser.

The Kents raised young Clark well, giving him a solid grounding in good old Midwestern values. But they didn't tell him the true story of how he came into their lives....until he was older, and strange things began to happen....

It began late one night. In the middle of getting a midnight snack, Clark found himself face to face with a weird holographic image--a strangely dressed man who bore a striking resemblance to Clark himself, and who spoke to Clark in an odd, alien language. Later, Clark again faced the image, this time while out on the field with his father. Seeing the hologram, Jonathan Kent knew the time had come to tell Clark the story of his arrival on Earth.

Faced with the truth about who he was, Clark decided it was time to strike out on his own, to embark on a journey of discovery and try and find himself. His journeys took him to every corner of the Earth before landing him in the great city of Metropolis.
