Title: Inspirational Superman Panels? Post by: Anonymous on October 30, 2005, 08:41:13 PM Hey, just wondering which superman panels have u found the most inspirational. I'm doing a college app essay on superman and it asks for a picture in the prompt. So I was wondering what have been some superman panels that have inspired you? I'm particularly looking for panels that have to deal with how there's a hero in all of us, about persevering, etc. but anything inspirational will do. thx in advance!
Looking for stuff like this: (http://img491.imageshack.us/img491/9710/itsabirdgnp1008qv.th.jpg) (http://img491.imageshack.us/my.php?image=itsabirdgnp1008qv.jpg) Title: Re: Inspirational Superman Panels? Post by: Great Rao on October 30, 2005, 09:21:12 PM Folks, Jim Bowers has expended an inordinate amount of effort on creating and making available his Superman/Chris Reeve images at capedwonder.com.
He also states on his site: "All content is Copyright ŠJim Bowers 2005, and may not be printed, published, or used on any website in any form without prior written permission." His wishes should be respected, so I'm going to ask that none of his images be used inline, but that we instead post links to the page(s) they appear on at capedwonder.com :s: Title: Re: Inspirational Superman Panels? Post by: Uncle Mxy on October 30, 2005, 10:14:34 PM Doh! I didn't realize that. Apologies to all. I didn't actually see this first on Caped Wonder, for that matter, so I'll let someone else know about this.

Due to a technical flub that I made, this post may not actually have been made by 'Diuretic'. If you asked the question about inspirational panels and your usename isn't 'Diuretic,' please speak up, and re-register if you need to. Thanks and sorry - first time something like this may (or may not) have happened. :? :s: Title: Re: Inspirational Superman Panels? This, of course, is from the "Last Days of Superman" story when Superman thinks he's dying. Definitely one of the most inspirational panels ever. Title: Re: Inspirational Superman Panels? Post by: TELLE on November 01, 2005, 04:28:24 AM I have found many of the panels featuring Superman's girlfriends inspiring!

Title: Re: Inspirational Superman Panels? Post by: Genis Vell on November 25, 2005, 09:09:52 AM The last page of MAN OF STEEL #1.
"It'll be a job for Superman!". When I first saw it, I became a Super fan for life. It was the triumph of the pure hero in a world of dark and gritty comics. Superman defeats Euphor. He faced his worst tragedy to defeat an enemy... Only a great hero could do this. Title: Re: Inspirational Superman Panels? Post by: BMK! on November 25, 2005, 03:44:33 PM The last three panels of Action Comics #775, "What's So Funny About Truth, Justice and the American Way?", after Superman has defeated the Elite (an Authority knockoff) and has his final words with their leader, Manchester Black...
Black: "SO LONG AS A HEART BEATS IN MY CHEST, I'LL COME AFTER YOU, YOU PONCY TWIT! If you think this is over, you're living in a bloody dream world!" Superman[fixing what's left of his cape]: "You know what, Black...?" Superman: "I wouldn't have it any other way." Superman: "Dreams save us. Dreams lift us up and transform us. And on my soul, I swear...until my dream of a world where dignity, honor and justice becomes the reality we all share... ...I'll never stop fighting. Ever." Title: Re: Inspirational Superman Panels? Post by: Captain Kal on November 25, 2005, 03:47:19 PM Another great inspirational panel was when Superman talked Major Disaster into reforming. I think it was titled "The Gift" or "The Choice". Was it in Action Comics?
Major Disaster just kind of cried in shame over what he'd been and was so grateful for a second chance to make things right. |
